Once framing begins, the house really starts to take shape…

Apparently a lot of it! The front and side of the property as well as the garage were overflowing with it. All the wood came from Canada, so I can confidently say it’s excellent quality wood that is being used to build our home. 🙂

As you might have guessed, the wood framing materials have been delivered to our home site. Shortly, we will be able to see the main “shell” of our home come to life. This will include the room divisions, the second floor, and the roof. As we walked into our home, we saw markings on the ground which represented the boundaries of each room. The markings were drawn as double black or red lines between which the framing materials will be anchored into. The architectural arches and doors were drawn in blue. In addition, we saw some comments written in Spanish on the floor… 🙂

Its nice to finally be able to visualize the size of all the areas after months of staring at and tweaking our floor plan to get it just perfect.

Here’s is what we saw this evening:

We didn’t get a chance to go to our lot last evening to see where the progress of the cinder block construction had stopped. So, as we pulled into the neighborhood this morning, we both looked at each other and smiled as in just one day the workers had managed to finish the entire first floor cinder block construction!
